5 DAY YACHT STEWARDESS COURSE



Our highly practical Yacht Stewardess course has been developed in line with international gold standards. It provides superyacht stewardess candidates with an opportunity to experience simulated yacht life and partake in every facet of the service, laundry, and housekeeping duties. This is done under the guidance of our experienced and well-known Chief Stewardess instructor.

Service Duties: involve practical training such as General guest service, all styles of yacht silver service, mixology/bartending, barista duties, wine & champagne etiquette and service, table setting and table décor, and entertainment planning.

Laundry Duties: Crew uniforms, guest clothing, bed linen, table linen and towels. Fabric care, laundry product instructions and stain removal techniques, ironing and/or pressing and folding. Candidates are taught to read and understand laundry symbols.

Housekeeping Duties: Duties: Meticulous cleaning and detailing of all guest and common areas, cleaning of cabins and bathrooms, cleaning product knowledge, inventories, provisioning, flower arranging, care for exotic furnishings and surfaces (wood, leather, porcelain, marble, carpets), surface and carpet stain removal techniques.

Successful yacht stewardess candidates are offered a rare opportunity to gain their very first written reference from a Captain through our exclusive day-work programme on one of many prestigious motor yachts in the V&A Waterfront, Cape Town. During the season, The Stewardess Co. often assists with Charters and charter setups and will call upon high-performing students to assist.

Due to the ever-evolving & demanding nature of the Superyacht industry, The Stewardess Co. has chosen to include course content covering entry-level, intermediate & advanced topics that are easy to understand and implement by the end of Day 5.

Yes, as a yachtie, you are expected to pay tax, but only in your country of residence; this may very well happen as your vessel becomes your permanent residence. Your best course of action will be to check with a tax advisor.
